Our Team
Isaac & Kelsey Baeza
Meet our founders, Isaac (Chako) and Kelsey.
Chako was born and raised in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He was raised in the church as a pastor’s kid. When he felt a calling to become a full time missionary, he quit his job and trusted the Lord in every step. He took action on the things God placed on his heart by searching for places to serve. God called him to Chimaltenango, and with no community or idea of where he was headed; he simply took his car and drove there. His visits became consistent as he sought to care for the orphans and widows. God was faithful to bring the pieces into place with each step of obedience. He also dreamed of a place for people to rest and seek the Lord, on a mountain, without knowing God had put the same desire on his future wife, Kelsey’s heart. Kelsey was a missionary in Guatemala for 6 years before she met Chako, they got married in 2020, and now they are a beautiful family, with the same vision, and taking every step to follow the Lord.
David Rodriguez (Chicho)
David, or as we call him, Chicho, began serving with Dar Para Dar in 2023.
Chicho, the son of a pastor, grew up in the church. After many attempts to escape his call to ministry, he finally, willingly, surrendered to serve the Lord. He decided to be full time serving the Lord through Dar Para Dar, this is something it’s not common in Guatemala.
Chicho has a plethora of skills including playing the guitar, photography, and graphic design. He has a gift for connecting with and shepherding people, and he finds great joy and fulfillment in serving the Lord and His people. Through his journey and the skills he has developed, he learned how to use the gifts the Lord gave him to Lead, guide, helping in logistics but more important how to impact in people’s life.
Chicho felt God put a calling and a passion for the nations on his heart since he was a kid. God has been faithful in allowing him to take part in what He is doing throughout the world, while remaining where He has him in Guatemala. Serving the nations has come to fruition as he has opportunities to train and equip others to go to the unreached, as well as being involved in intercession ministries that seek to intercede on behalf of the nations.
Abner Xot
Abner grew up in Guatemala City, Guatemala. He is one of seven children. He enjoys playing the drums, singing, playing soccer, and learning new things.
Abner grew up in the church and has always had a heart to serve the Lord. The first time he felt the presence of the Holy Spirit he was five years old. He never felt equipped to serve in missions until He completed the Hineni program, which aims to prepare Guatemalans to go to the nations. As he completed this program in a step of obedience, God brought him to serving alongside Dar Para Dar.
Abner has a pastoral anointing and leads out of humility and gentleness. He is accomplishing this calling by going to villages and engaging in kids ministries where he is able to exemplify the grace of the gospel. He also has received a call to go to the 10/40 window, he has been in Turkey and now is praying for the next steps in this calling.
David Chicol
David was born and raised in Patzún, Guatemala. He is the son of a pastor. He has been serving alongside Chako since 2021 and began serving consistently in the village of Chimachoy in 2023 with kids and sports ministry.
He enjoys playing guitar, riding mountain bikes, playing drums, and reading. A fun fact about him is he always has a backpack full of the things you may need to survive, or to help someone in need.
Like the prodigal son, he had walked away from the Lord, but as God faithfully chased after him, David ran back into His arms. David would do anything to spread Gods love and he would go wherever the Lord calls him to serve. Might be in the mountains of Guatemala or the prayer rooms in the 10/40 window.
Alejandro Apén
Alejandro was born and raised in Sumpango, Guatemala.
He has been serving in kids ministry since 2016, at church and in different villages. He is open handed, willing and ready to serve wherever the God asks him to go.
Some of his skills and hobbies include playing drums, creating content using photography and videography, he also does sound mixing.
The Lord called him to be a missionary in 2018 so he began working with various non profits. And during this timeThough now he is full time with Dar Para Dar!
Benjamin Sirín
Benja, Benji, or as his family has called him since childhood, Minchis, has lived and grown up in Chimaltenango, Guatemala. He was born into a Christian home, which allowed him to know God from a young age. He enjoys sports, books, music, all forms of art and entertainment, nature, and animals, which led him to study Biology at university.
Following the example of love and service form his parents, he began serving in his local church, leading in the youth ministry and participating in other social outreach ministries in Chimaltenango. However, it wasn’t until June 2024, during the Hineni intensive missions program by Adventures in Missions, that God awakened his missionary heart and asked him to give up everything to serve as a full-time missionary, to be a light to the nations. He now serves in his local church more intentionally, works full-time in nearby communities and in God’s time, will serve in other nations as well.
